MILAN (AFX) - The Treasury Minister Vincenzo Visco said the government target for 2001 GDP growth at 2.9 pct will definitely be lowered, probably during March.
Speaking on the sidelines of a trade union convention Visco said the target will be lowered but by as much as has been reported in some newspapers.
Responding to questions asking if the 2001 debt to GDP ratio target of 0.8 pct will also be lowered Visco said "the two go together".
