Washington, March 22 (BridgeNews) - New claims for U.S. state unemployment insurance benefits fell 1,000 to 379,000 during the week ended Saturday, the U.S. Labor Department said, above the 375,000 median estimate of analysts surveyed by BridgeNews. However, the 4-week moving average rose 11,500 to 377,000--its highest level since April 1996.
