WASHINGTON (MktNews) - The number of U.S. building permits issued in February was revised upward to a decrease of 2.8% at a 1.675 million unit annual rate, the Commerce Department's Bureau of the Census said Monday.
Permits for February were originally reported down 3.1% at 1.670 million units.
The Census Bureau revises the latest building permits data on the 18th working day of the month, three to seven days after the release of the preliminary estimate in the monthly housing starts and building permits report.
Permits for single-family homes were revised higher to down 3.7% to 1.239 million units (originally down 3.9% at 1.237 million units). Permits for multi-unit buildings were revised up to a decrease of 0.2% at 436,000 units (originally down 0.9% at 433,000 units).
