Japan will carefully monitor foreign exchange markets, Finance Minister Sadakazu Tanigaki said on Wednesday after the dollar hit a six-week low against the yen. When asked by reporters to comment on the appreciating yen, Tanigaki said: "All we can do is to carefully monitor it (the market), Tanigaki is in Istanbul for the meeting of the Asian Development Bank.
