PARIS (AFX) - French total GDP rose a provisional 0.5 pct in the first quarter after a fourth quarter increase of 0.8 pct, the statistics office Insee said. Insee said household consumption rose 1.2 pct after a 0.1 pct increase in the fourth quarter. Exports of goods and services fell 0.1 pct following a 3.1 increase in the fourth quarter, while imports fell 1.4 pct compared with a rise of 2.5 pct in the fourth quarter, Insee said.
