The yen edged lower against the dollar and the euro in Asian trade, although vlumes were low ahead of the weekend. Many dealers reported limited buying of dollar-yen from Japanese importers and a small short-squeeze of speculative accounts. The euro was again lower against the dollar, but failed by breach Thursday's low ay $0.8505.
