TOKYO (AFX-ASIA) - Department store sales in Tokyo in June rose 3.8 pct year-on-year, compared with a 0.1 pct fall in May, the Japan Department Store Association said. The largest rise was in sales of personal belongings, up 11.5 pct, followed by miscellaneous, up 5.3 pct, and food, which rose 3.9 pct. The largest fall was in sales of household products, down 4.7 pct, followed by "other" products, down 2.3 pct. Floor space was down 2.8 pct year-on-year, with the number of days of operation totalling 29.9 from 29.6 a year earlier.
