LONDON (AFX) - UK car production fell 0.7 pct in the three months to June compared with the previous three months and was down 13.6 pct on the same period a year earlier, according to data from National Statistics. In the latest three months, production allocated for exports fell 0.7 pct when compared with the previous three months, which left it 21.2 pct lower year-on-year. Car production for the domestic market rose 4.7 pct in the three months to June leaving it 4.0 pct higher on the same period a year earlier, while total commercial vehicle production for the three months ending June was 4.5 pct down on the previous three months for a 5.0 pct year-on-year decline. NS said car production in June stood at 132,000 compared with 127,000 in May and 156,000 in June of last year.
