TOKYO (AFX-ASIA) - The July current account surplus narrowed to 775.6 bln yen from 1.08 trln a year earlier, the Ministry of Finance said.
The ministry gave the following details, compared with figures from a year earlier:
Current account surplus - 775.6 bln yen vs 1.08 trln
Trade surplus - 579.8 bln yen vs 1.16 trln
Exports - 3.82 trln yen vs 4.15 trln
Imports - 3.24 trln yen vs 2.99 trln
Goods, service account surplus - 82.7 bln yen vs 711.6 bln
Capital, financial account - outflow 1.17 trln yen vs outflow 681.9 bln
Private sector economists earlier forecast a current account surplus of 478-700 bln yen, with a consensus of around 582 bln.
