Preliminary August industrial production rose 0.8% on month, slightly below market expectations, the Ministry for Economics, Trade and Industry reported Friday. August's preliminary inventorires were up 0.1% on month. METI's forecasts for manufacturing output in September was an on month fall of 1.4%, before rebounding 0.1% in October.
