BERLIN, Sept 22 - German Finance Minister Hans Eichel was quoted on Monday as saying he had no doubt that Europe was about to experience an economic recovery. Eichel told German business daily Handelsblatt that talks with his colleagues from other Group of Seven leading industrial nations at a weekend meeting in Dubai had convinced him that an upturn was coming. "There is no doubt that Europe faces an economic upturn," Eichel was quoted as saying. "The essential thing is that the economic fundamentals are good and we have taken the right decisins to strengthen our growth potential in a lasting way."
He pointed out that the German government planned to reform the welfare system with the so-called "Agenda 2010" package of reforms.//
