SORRENTO, Italy (AFX) - Economy ministry undersecretary Vito Tanzi said this year's budget deficit is expected to total 1.2-1.3 pct of GDP. Speaking on the sidelines of a conference, Tanzi said that in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks in the US it is not "reasonable" to expect GDP growth of 2.3 pct in 2002 as forecast by the government and growth will be nearer to 2.0 pct.
