European Central Bank (ECB) Vice President Christian Noyer said on Tuesday the euro is undervalued but will strengthen over time because of the good economic fundamentals of countries in the euro-zone.
"The euro is undervalued. Over time it will demonstrate the strength that is linked to good fundamentals of the economies of euro-zone and of the fact that it's an extremely stable currency internally," Noyer told reporters in Shanghai.
"This strength will shore up over time," he said.
Noyer told reporters after a speech to promote the euro that the ECB "wants a strong euro", based on sound economic fundamentals.
